About
I'm Andras Dietrich — a London-based food photographer and filmmaker. Before I picked up a camera professionally, I cooked for a decade: 5-star hotels in the Mediterranean, Michelin-trained Italian kitchens, and three years as Head Chef for a Middle Eastern Royal family residence in London.
That background gives me something most photographers don't have — I understand food from the inside out, which means the imagery I produce is more accurate, more efficient to create, and more commercially effective.
My work spans commercial food photography, recipe and ingredient content, restaurant imagery, and food film — all delivered through a structured workflow built for real-world commercial use.
What makes the work different.
Chef's eye
A decade in professional kitchens means I know when food looks right versus when it looks like a photograph of food. That distinction matters commercially — it's the difference between imagery that makes people hungry and imagery that makes them scroll past.
Texture & honesty
No over-styling, no artificial perfection. The crunch of a crust, the pull of cheese, the glisten of a sauce catching light. Every surface tells a story — I make sure you feel it through the image.
Mediterranean soul
Even shooting British brands or global knife collections, there's a Mediterranean warmth running through my work. Boldness, craft, and the honest beauty of quality ingredients — it shapes how I see food as something to be celebrated, not just photographed.
Commercial rigour
Every project is approached with the end-use in mind from day one. Campaign imagery, packaging, menus, social, delivery apps — the images are built to perform across every touchpoint, not just look good in a portfolio.
